About Fascism Watch: Given the increasing rise of far-right extremism in American politics and worldwide, I have decided to make “Fascism Watch” a regular newsletter-type installment of my writing here on Medium. Throughout my graduate studies, I have noticed frightening and fascinating parallels between these radical movements and current events. I hope to shed light on this topic by analyzing and highlighting important information to which we should all pay attention.

We are barely two weeks into Donald J. Trump Senior’s (R-FL) second term, and the “flood the zone” strategy is working as intended. So many radical and blatantly unlawful decisions are happening all at once that something of paralysis has taken hold both in the Democratic Party and in the general public — and all at a time when time is of the essence.

It’s difficult to grapple with the overwhelming deluge of news that we are now being flooded with. But we must. Our only other option is to bury our heads in the sand; which would conscript us to the fate to which we are now being driven. Everything we decide to do from this point forward — including nothing — is a deliberate choice.
