In Losing the Election, Trump Shows Exactly Why He Shouldn’t Have Won
Do Trump supporters now regret their votes after seeing his conduct after the election? Unlikely. It’s up to the rest of us to safeguard the United States against the growing tide of fascism.
There probably are not very many Trump voters who have witnessed his behavior after the election and regretted voting for him. But in losing the election, Trump has demonstrated exactly why he didn’t deserve to win; as well as the proverbial bullet the United States and the world dodged by denying someone with a brazen drive for fascist power a second term.
It should not come as a surprise that on Saturday, Trump called the Georgia Secretary of State in an attempt to overturn the election results in that state, asking him to “find” votes that didn’t exist. Luckily, the Georgia Secretary of State had the good sense to record the conversation with his lawyer on the line. The call itself was absolutely astounding, yet somehow unsurprising. We always knew that Trump was this kind of person: corrupt, hungry for power, willing to do whatever it takes to win.
